The Mission of Hope 2008
-
supported by Laurie Flasko Consulting
Chippawa Presbyterian Church built a small school in a poor community approximately 30km outside of Managua in 2001. The congregation currently supports 4 teachers and 73 children and the school continues to grow. Thanks to the generous donations and support of many businesses, family and friends $36,000 was raised. July 2008 a team of 15 traveled to Los Cedros Nicaragua to build classrooms, a house and as well as partaking in variety of other community projects to support the continued growth. Education is a vital aspect of long term health and prosperity of a community. For more information about the project or a list of accomplishments please

Project Tuna and Noodle
Thank you for all who supported and participated in
Project Tuna and Noodle, a food drive of macaroni and cheese and tuna in support of Project S.H.A.R.E. (local community food bank).
The challenge was to collect 5000 boxes of macaroni and cheese and 500 cans of tuna. Partnerships were established with Chippawa Presbyterian Church, area schools and businesses.
On Sunday, October 15, a celebration was held. Collected boxes of macaroni and cheese were set up in the gymnasium as a dominoes course. A tuna checker’s tournament was held, with tuna cans serving as checker pieces. Cotton candy, popcorn, hotdogs, a fish pond, tuna tic tac toe, were all available. The weather held and the day was genuinely fun.
We exceeded our goals and were able to present Project S.H.A.R.E. with approximately
7,500 boxes of macaroni and cheese and 1,100 cans of tuna!
We can all make a difference.
